Gold Route begins at 6:30 AM.

Silver and Bronze Routes begin at 6:30 AM.

Early Check-In/Rider Meeting: Friday, July 28th at Zipline Beer Hall from 7- 9pm.
*Last chance to sign up on site, no day of registration

All participants get a free meal. Spokes Mobile Wood Fired Pizza will be cooking up a pizza for each participant after they complete the ride and each participant will also get their first drink free at Zipline.

Hotel Information:The Residence Inn has limited number of rooms blocked of for Gravel Grinder Participants. Please contact them before July 6th for a room.

Silver - 54 Miles
Bronze - 31 Miles

All riders must be present at least 15 minutes before the start of their race for important pre-race announcements.

STARTING POINT FOR 2017- Scooters Coffee (56th & Pine Lake)

TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE: Support stations will be located along the route. Support stations will have water, fruit and snacks to refuel.

RULES:The Cornhusker State Games Gravel Grinder is a self-supported gravel/dirt road race. This means you are responsible for yourself while on the course and may not receive aide from any non competitor at any time during the race. Support vehicles are not allowed on the course for any reason unless you choose to drop out of the race. If you do have a support vehicle on the course, it will be assumed that you have dropped out of the race resulting in a DNF.

All riders are required to wear helmets, carry cell phones, and enough water for 30 miles. Bikes must be equipped with a properly calibrated cycling computer.

ROUTES: Routes will be held on county roads around Lincoln. Maps and downloadable GPS routes from Strava and Map My Ride will be available here once routes are finalized, and will be provided to each rider on the morning of the race.

MEDALS: Custom Cornhusker State Games gold, silver and bronze medals will be awarded to the top three finishers in each of the Full Race divisions. All riders who complete the Non-Competitive ride or Full Race within the time limit will receive a Cornhusker State Games commemorative medallion and be eligible for other prizes.


DEFINITION: The rouleur is a consistent all-rounder who can ride well over most types of course.

AWARD: The Cornhusker State Games Dirt Rouleur Award is given to the male and female cyclist with the lowest (fastest) combined time in the Mountain Bike and Gravel Grinder events.


All Dirt Rouleur competitors must race in the Expert division in Mountain Bike AND the Long Course event in the Gravel Grinder to be eligible for the award.

Competitors may choose geared or single-speed bicycles for their events. Cyclists are competing against all other Dirt Rouleur competitors, regardless of their (or your) chosen bicycle.

Two Dirt Rouleur award winners will be selected - one male, one female.

Decisions of race officials are final.

MULTI-EVENT CYCLING DISCOUNT: All Gravel Grinder participants who register for Mountain Bike, and/or Tour will receive a $7 discount per additional event by entering coupon code CYCLE at checkout. All registrations must take place on the same transaction to receive the discount.

ENTRY FEE INCLUDES: Competition in the 2017Cornhusker State Games; White cotton athlete shirt (micro-fiber upgrade available); Pass for free admission to SportFest, the Opening Ceremonies, and all competition venues; 2017Nebraska Sports Council Yearbook (available at packet pickup); Sponsor gifts and coupons.

PAPER ENTRY FORMS: Paper entry forms will be accepted with a $5 processing fee. Registering online saves time, money and trees.
