COURSE: Maps will be posted at when the course is finalized.

AWARDS: Custom Cornhusker State Games gold, silver and bronze medals given to top three participants in each division. Medals will be given out on Saturday at 4:00 pm.

New this year! Iowa Games is partnering with the Cornhusker State Games to host this event at Carter Lake. Carter Lake is unique in that it’s Iowa territory that sits on the Nebraska border. Iowa participants will not only be competing against other Iowa rowers but against Nebraska rowers as well. This is sure to be an exciting event with some friendly state rivalry!

There will be 1,000 and 2,000 meter sprints.  There is no limit to the number of events one may enter as long as the race schedule is not disrupted.

Competition Format & Rules

Recreation – Defined by the size of the boat.  It is a single boat that is wider and shorter than a competitive shell.

Novice sweep rower – A sweep rower who has been rowing less than 12 months.

Novice sculler – A sculler who’s first competition as a sculler has been within the last 12 months.

Junior – A rower under the age of 19, or graduation in 2018 from high school.

Master – A rower who is age 18 years or older as of December 31, 2017.  Masters races will be handicapped by age.
United States Rowing Association rules of racing apply.

*Mixed boats may have 50/50 women to men ratios, or more women than men.

ENTRY FEE INCLUDES: Competition in the 2018 Cornhusker State Games; White cotton athlete shirt (micro-fiber or soft cotton lightweight tri-blend upgrade available); Pass for free admission to SportFest, the Opening Ceremonies, and all competition venues; Sponsor gifts and coupons.
