SITE: Branched Oak State Recreation Area (15 miles northwest of Lincoln - View map)

STATE PARK PERMITS: State park permits are needed for vehicles to enter Branched Oak State Recreation Area. Permits may be purchased at the park. Any overnight docking arrangements should be made with the marina owner (402) 783-3311.

8-8:30 a.m. – Arrive and rig boat. (Hobie beach, and the Branched Oak Marina mast crane will be available for use)
9a.m. – Registration, check-in and packet pick-up begins.
9:15 a.m. – Skippers meeting. Registration and packet pick-up will close 15 minutes after skippers meeting.
10:30 a.m. – First race.
Noon – Lunch provided.
6 p.m. – Racing done, dinner/social event at either Marina Restaurant or docks area TBD

NOTE: Registration table and skipper meetings will be held at the fire pit by the middle docks, east of the marina store.

Portsmouth scoring with fleets: Catamaran Open, Laser/Dinghy Open, Cruiser open. If four of the same boat model register, they will be given their own start. However, if three-or-fewer boats are left to start after fleet assignments, they may be combined with a fleet of similar boats. Crew can come and go, be substituted, etc., as long as the sailing director is notified of this at the skippers meeting. Crew changes are not allowed in order to change crew weight based on weather changes.

The event will consist of about five races. At least one race will be before lunch, with time to eat and tune boat before heading back out, then the remainder of the races. No races starting after 5 p.m.

RULES: USSA and class rules will apply. Class membership is not required.

AWARDS: Custom Cornhusker State Games gold, silver and bronze medals will be awarded to each crew member of the top three finishing boats in each class.

Entry Fees

$35 per sailor PLUS $10 per boat until July 6

Sailing is ONLINE AND ON-SITE ENTRY. Participants are encouraged to pre-register online. But, registration will also be allowed at the event site on the day of the event. On-site registration and check-in begins at 9 a.m. on Saturday, July 21. Participants are encouraged to download the Sailing entry form found at and bring the completed entry form (along with payment) to the checkin tent the morning of the event.

Competition in the 2018 Cornhusker State Games; White cotton athlete shirt (micro-fiber or soft cotton lightweight tri-blend upgrade available); Pass for free admission to SportFest, the Opening Ceremonies, and all competition venues; Sponsor gifts and coupons.

Boxed lunches will be provided.
