General Information

Youth July 24-26 (Tue-Thur)

SANCTION: The Cornhusker State Games Tennis event is sanctioned by the USTA. USTA membership card can be purchased at www.usta.com.

COMPETITION FORMAT & RULES:

USTA rules will apply.


All players must have a valid USTA membership good through at least July 2018.

NTRP rating classification guidelines will apply.

Matches are 2 of 3 sets with a 10-point match tiebreak in lue of a third set. It is the referee’s discretion to switch to alternate scoring from “regular” scoring in all matches. The change may be necessary to complete the tournament after inclement weather or other factors causing the tournament to fall behind its published schedule.

Juniors may enter only one age division and are not allowed to enter the adult draw except in the open events.

Juniors and adults may enter both singles and doubles.

Age as of July 31, 2018. Example: If a player turns 19 anytime in July, they are not eligible to play in the U18 division.

The tournament director reserves the right to combine events.

MATCH TIMES & DRAWS: Match times and draws will be available here and emailed out to participants the week of competition. Events may be rescheduled after the entry deadline to improve the flow of the tournament. Participants will be notified of any changes. Please DO NOT call the Cornhusker State Games office for this information.

AWARDS: Custom Cornhusker State Games gold, silver and bronze medals will be awarded to the top three finishers in each event.

SPECIAL ACCOMMODATIONS: Participants in need of special accommodations must let must let tournament directors know at time of entry. Participants registering online will be prompted to list any special accommodations, and those registering via paper entry form must list them in the Additional Details/Special Instructions section.


TOURNAMENT NOTES:                 
- The Director reserves the right to adjust the USTA scoring format in instances of extreme heat.
- To help eliminate scheduling issues, players are limited to playing in a maximum of THREE events. 
- 10 & U will play with either Orange or Green Dot balls.

Registration Fees & Deadlines

IF REGISTERED BY THE DISCOUNT DEADLINE:
$45 for first event until July 6
Additional events - $12


MULTI-EVENT DISCOUNT NOTE: If registering for multiple events, all entries must occur in the same transaction to receive the multi-event discount.

ONLINE REGISTRATION NOTE: If registering for a doubles event, the participant must still select “Myself” or “Another Participant” (NOT “Team”) on the first step of the registration process. The participant will be asked to list the doubles partner’s names. Entering their name DOES NOT register them for the event. Both team members must register themselves, or the participant can register the partner by selecting “Another Participant” on the first step of the registration process.

ENTRY FEE INCLUDES:
Competition in the 2018 Cornhusker State Games; White cotton athlete shirt (micro-fiber or soft cotton lightweight tri-blend upgrade available); Pass for free admission to SportFest, the Opening Ceremonies, and all competition venues; Sponsor gifts and coupons.

PAPER ENTRY FORMS: Paper entry forms will be accepted with a $5 processing fee. Registering online saves time, money and trees.
